ALL AUTHORITY HAS BEEN GIVEN TO JESUS
What does it truly mean when Scripture declares that all authority has been given to Jesus Christ? This powerful message takes us deep into Matthew 28:18, where Jesus makes an astonishing claim that all authority in heaven and on earth belongs to Him. But here's the crucial distinction we often miss: authority is not the same as power. Power is the ability to do something, but authority is the right to do it. A thief may have the power of a gun, but he has no authority to take what isn't his. Jesus doesn't just possess power—He holds legitimate, God-given authority over everything. This truth transforms how we understand spiritual warfare and our daily struggles. The enemy may still have power to harass and intimidate, but he has absolutely no authority over those who belong to Christ. When we grasp this, we stop being impressed by displays of power and start asking the real question: who has the authority here? Jesus gained this authority through complete submission to the Father, doing nothing of His own will but only what He saw the Father doing. This is the secret we need to understand: authority flows from submission. When we submit ourselves fully to God's will, putting aside our own desires and agendas, we position ourselves to walk in the authority Christ has delegated to us. This isn't about religious performance or spiritual showmanship—it's about aligning ourselves with the One who holds all legitimate power in the universe.
