JESUS WANTS YOU NOT JUST YOUR BOAT

This powerful message takes us deep into Luke 5:1-11, where Jesus transforms a simple fishing expedition into a life-changing encounter. We discover that our preeminent Christ doesn't just want our resources or our service—He wants us. The narrative unfolds beautifully, showing how Jesus first asked Peter for his boat to teach the crowds, then rewarded Peter's obedience with an overwhelming catch of fish, and finally called him to a completely new destiny. What makes this story so compelling is its progression: from lending a boat, to obeying instructions that didn't make sense, to recognizing our own sinfulness, and ultimately to total surrender. We're challenged to examine whether we've given Jesus just our 'boats'—our time, money, or talents—while keeping our hearts at a distance. The message confronts our tendency to seek miracles and blessings while avoiding the deeper work Christ wants to do in addressing our sin and transforming our character. Peter's declaration 'Nevertheless, at your word' becomes our model for moving past doubts and excuses into radical obedience. When we finally see Jesus in His fullness, like Peter did, we can't help but recognize our need for His saving grace and respond with complete commitment.
