GIVE THANKS IN EVERYTHING

Nov 30, 2025    REV.DR.GEORGE ADDAE-MINTAH

This powerful message challenges us to embrace a radical perspective on thanksgiving—one that transcends our circumstances and anchors itself in the unchanging character of God. Drawing from 1 Thessalonians 5:18, we discover that giving thanks in everything isn't just good advice; it's God's will for us in Christ Jesus. But how can we possibly thank God when facing unemployment, loss, family conflict, or personal failure? The answer lies not in what's happening to us, but in who God is. Psalm 107:1 reminds us that God is good and His mercy endures forever—truths that remain constant regardless of our situation. Like the formless, void, and dark earth in Genesis 1:2, our lives may seem chaotic and empty, but when the good God steps in, the outcome is always 'very good.' This message beautifully illustrates how God's goodness transformed David from a rejected shepherd boy into a mighty king, and how Joseph's betrayal became the pathway to his destiny. We learn that God's mercy—His loyal, steadfast, enduring love—outlasts anything the enemy can bring against us. When we cultivate gratitude even in dark seasons, we position ourselves to taste and see that the Lord is good, trusting that He's working all things together for our ultimate benefit.
