JESUS THE LORD

Jan 4, 2026    EVANGELIST MARIAN ASAMOAH-ANIM

As we step into 2026, we're confronted with a fundamental question that shapes everything: Is Jesus truly the Lord of our lives, or is He merely a consultant we call upon in emergencies? This powerful message draws us back to the foundational truth found in Colossians 1:15-18, where Paul reveals that Christ is not just part of our lives—He is the one who holds all things together. Without Him at the center, everything falls apart. The sermon challenges us to examine every area of our existence: our finances, relationships, careers, even our shopping habits and intimate struggles. When Jesus asked in Luke 6:46, 'Why do you call me Lord and do not do the things which I say?' He was exposing the gap between our words and our actions. The beautiful contrast between Martha and Mary in Luke 10 illustrates this perfectly—Martha acknowledged Jesus as a guest, but Mary recognized Him as Lord. One was distracted by activity; the other chose surrender. As we prepare to move forward this year, we're invited to make a choice: Will we manage our own outcomes and live under constant pressure, or will we release control and trust His timing? The message is clear—when Christ has preeminence, we don't work harder; we align ourselves properly. We don't do more; we submit more. This isn't about perfection but about positioning ourselves under His authority in every single detail of life.
