THE POWER OF MEEKNESS

Dec 7, 2025    REV.DR.GEORGE ADDAE-MINTAH

What if the path to inheriting the earth isn't through aggressive conquest, but through something our world considers weakness? This powerful message unpacks the profound difference between humility and meekness, revealing that meekness is actually strength under control—like a tamed horse that possesses tremendous power but chooses to submit to guidance. Drawing from Psalm 37:11 and Matthew 5:5, we discover that God promises the meek will inherit the earth not by fighting for it, but by receiving it as an inheritance from the true Owner. The message challenges our ego-driven culture by examining Moses, described as the meekest man on earth, who possessed God's power yet chose not to defend himself when criticized by his own siblings. Instead, God Himself rose to Moses' defense, demonstrating that when we lay down our rights and power for God's purposes, He becomes our advocate. The story of Obed-Edom is particularly striking—when the Ark of God brought blessing to his house and was then taken away, he didn't complain or withdraw; instead, he volunteered as a gatekeeper, musician, and doorkeeper, bringing 68 family members to serve alongside him. This is meekness in action: prioritizing the kingdom over personal gain, choosing service over self-promotion, and trusting God to handle the outcomes. As we navigate success, promotions, and blessings, we're called to remember that meekness isn't about having nothing—it's about having everything and choosing to surrender it for God's greater purpose.
